Liège-based Contipharma has filed a patent for a rapid salivary antigen test to detect malaria, a world first.

Contipharma, a pharmaceutical company specialising in the development and marketing of targeted medical solutions, is now making available a rapid salivary test for the detection of malaria.
Contipharma, a company based in Liège, has succeeded in developing such a test, and has just filed a patent for a rapid non-invasive diagnostic test to overcome the difficulties encountered with current detection tools.
This is a world first, but above all it was a priority for Contipharma: developing a test that provides a major diagnostic aid in the fight against malaria was perfectly in line with the founding mission that Contipharma set itself from the outset.
