Project Description
Allochol
(the coated tablets)
international nonproprietary name
Allochol (the coated tablets) Allocholum
Ref
BP-0005
Pharmacotherapeutic group
Cholagogue agent.
Composition of the preparation
Pharmacodynamics
Allochol refers to the preparations strengthening bilification. The mechanism of action is caused by reflexes from intestine mucosa and also influence of Allochol on liver secretory function. Allochol increases quantity of secreted bile, activates secretory and motor functions of gastrointestinal tract, reduces processes of rotting and fermentation in an intestine. Allochol can serve as an agent of replaceable therapy at endogenous deficiency of bile acids.
Pharmakokinetics
Allochol is well absorbed in gastrointestinal tract. Cholic and chenodeoxycholic acids containing in Allochol are exposed to7a- dehydroxylation in intestine. Besides, chenodeoxycholic acid is exposed to metabolism in liver: conjugates with amino acids, secretes in bile, whence again it is excreted in intestine, then partially reabsorbed; other part is eliminated with excrements.

Indications
Indicated at chronic hepatitises, cholangites, cholecystites and the habitual constipation associated with intestine atony.
special indication
Course of Allochol treatment can be repeated 2-3 times with an interval of 3 months.
special warning
Not established
Dosage and method of administration
Should be taken per orally after meal. Administrated to the adults per 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day. Course of treatment is 3-4 weeks.
At an exacerbation of diseases should be administrated per 1 tablet 2-3 times a day (within 1-2 months).
overdosage
The diarrhea, nausea, heartburn, dermal itch, rising of transaminases level in blood are possible.
safety measures
Not established
Side effects
Diarrhea, allergic reactions are possible at preparation intake for separate patients. In these cases the preparation should be withdrawn.
Contraindications
Acute hepatitises, acute and subacute liver dystrophias, obturative jaundice.
Interactions with other medicinal preparations
The preparations containing aluminium hydroxide, cholestyramine, cholestypol reduce absorption (and reduce effect) – simultaneous intake is unpractical.
The form of release
10 and 50 covered tablets, with total mass of 0,21 g.
